With an impressive 53 years of legal practice, James Dive is a seasoned solicitor whose career has been marked by dedication and service to his clients. James founded his own firm, Dive & Kerr, in Dee Why in 1978, where he served the local community until the firm was sold in 2017. Following the sale, James continued to work with Coyne Legal before joining Marks Griffiths and Bova, where he remains an active and valued member of the team.

James now works from his home in Killarney Heights, where many of his long-standing clients appreciate the convenience and personal touch of meeting him in a familiar setting. Additionally, he serves clients in a number of places, such as Dee Why, Manly, and Chatswood. His work primarily focuses on wills, estates, powers of attorney, and guardianships, and he is known for his deep knowledge in these areas.

As the official solicitor for LifeSource Christian Church in Chatswood, which has over 1,000 members, James is frequently recommended by senior pastors when members need legal advice. He maintains a strong relationship with the community, accounting for a significant portion of his work.

James’s commitment to his clients and passion for the law has not waned despite being 82 years old. His enthusiasm for his profession continues to inspire those around him. Outside of law, James enjoys spending time on his hobbies, which include a deep love for cars—he has owned 65 over the years, and many of their pictures proudly adorn the walls of his garage, much to the interest of his clients. He is also an avid gardener and keen traveller, with a love for exploring the world that started with a one-way ticket to the UK in 1971 aboard the P&O ship “Iberia”.
